Whole-genome Analysis of Psychiatric Disorders

The genetic basis of psychiatric disease consists of a broad spectrum of rare variants and common risk alleles. We lead psychiatric genetic studies that are focused on discovering novel genetic risk factors using 3rd generation sequencing technologies.

Clinical recruitment. We recruit patients and families through Rady Children’s Hospital and UCSD as part of our NIH-funded genetic study of autism via the REACH Project

Genomes are sequenced with a combination of short-read (Illumina NovaSeq) and long-read (PacBio, Oxford Nanopore) technology.

We lead collaborative studies of large genomic datasets through our work within the Psychiatric Genomics Consortium
